Clothing Collection for Refugees Nets 175 Bags

By Bill Calvin on December 11, 2015

“Sure, I will help settle the one hundred and thirty refugees from Congo, Africa.” Pastor Jim Larkin lives by faith and his volunteer sidekick Dave Lorenz knows how to network and get things done. Together they made a great team as they got Bloomingdale Church involved in collecting one hundred and seventy five bags of clothes and household items on Thanksgiving weekend.

“These are very good quality items,” Lorenz noted, “and some people brought in brand new goods for the cause.” Now the work of sorting begins! Silent Light is the big day for getting the job completed so the people will have these clothes and household goods before the really cold weather comes.

If you would like to be part of the Silent Light effort on Sun Dec 13 from 1–3pm, sign up at bloomingdalechurch.org/silentlight.
