Be a Hero! Volunteer for Virtual Day Camp 2020

Has COVID-19 stressed you out? Do you miss using your God-given gifts to further His kingdom? I have good news for you! Our annual Day Camp is going VIRTUAL! That’s right – it’s all happening June 22-26 and we are looking for volunteers HEROES to make this experience epic!

What is Virtual Day Camp?

  • Skits, stories, and songs premiered LIVE on Facebook at 9am (June 22-26)
  • Activities for kids to complete at home
  • Family games to engage kids and parents
  • Zoom Family Discipleship groups
  • Family challenges and opportunities to win awesome prizes
  • Hope, in a difficult and ever-changing season

NextGen Volunteer Requirements

  • You must have attended Bloomingdale Church for at least 6 months and must be a NextGen Approved Volunteer.
  • All volunteers will need to complete the new NextGen application beginning June 1 (click here to fill out the application).

Write Postcard Invitations

Write postcards inviting kids and families to this unique event from the comfort of your own home!

  • Timing: May 26-June 5
  • Morgan will drop off postcards, stamps, mailing list, and a sample postcard to your house (or you can pick up at the church office)
  • You write 30-50 postcards and send ASAP

Administrative Team

Help assemble Family Activity Kits while social distancing at Bloomingdale Church.

  • Timing: June 10-12, anytime between 10am-2pm
  • Family Activity Kits will include
    • Craft kits for each kid in the family
    • Supplies for family games (coincide with Zoom Groups)
    • Gospel: God’s Plan for me booklets
    • Activity pages
    • Brochures/postcards for BC
    • Daily Newsletter

Distribution Team

Help pass out pre-assembled Family Activity Kits at Bloomingdale Church to families during specified pick-up times.

  • Timing: June 15-19, 10-11am and/or 6-7pm
  • Choose a one-time slot or as many time slots as you’d like
  • Bring pre-assembled Family Activity Kits to cars when they come to pick up (families must sign up for a time to pick up)

Zoom Family Discipleship Leader

Hang out with a group of families and facilitate a game time, devotions, and discussion time, all from the comfort of your home.

  • Timing: June 22-26, weeknights (exact time TBD, but after 6pm)
  • Attend a Zoom Training: Sat Jun 13 @ 2pm
  • 2 Main Roles
    • Administrative Leader
      • Keep track of points families earn
      • Share Screen Content via Zoom (provided to you)
      • *Participate in LIVE streaming on Facebook at 9am
    • Lesson Leader
      • Welcome and interact with families
      • Facilitate family activities and discussion using provided materials
