The Discipleship Initiative

“Being discipled grew my faith exponentially in ways I never anticipated. It wasn’t just another ‘Sunday school’ experience. Having someone to not only hold me accountable and help me through difficult things in life, but also to encourage me and challenge me to see things that God was doing in my life week to week was what led me to desire a closer relationship with Christ.” – Grace R. (19 years old)

In Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus commands his followers to, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

Discipleship Culture

At Bloomingdale Church, we want to foster a culture of discipleship by pairing each of our teens with an adult who is committed to walking with them on their journey toward maturity in Christ. Making disciples is something that all Christ-followers are called to do; and it can have a profound impact on the life of the one discipling and the one being discipled.

The Discipleship Initiative – “D.I.”

The Discipleship Initiative helps pair adults and teens in intentional discipleship relationships and encourages them to commit to meeting regularly for one year. Through the process, the Youth Directors will provide encouragement and support, obtain feedback and help address challenges, and offer discipleship resource and training opportunities.

If you’re interested in encouraging, equipping, and challenging teens in their walk with Christ, join us to learn more about The Discipleship Initiative (click here) at Bloomingdale Church!
