On Easter Sunday, fifteen people were baptized at Bloomingdale Church in a special baptism service. One of the important traditions of our church is that people give their testimony of salvation in Jesus Christ prior to being immersed in the waters. Here are some of the testimonies we heard that day.

Scripture commands us to not only love the Lord God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength but also to love our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22:36-40). These neighbors can be in our surrounding towns of Roselle, Addison, or Glendale Heights but have you ever thought of reaching out to your neighbors living on different continents, right from your neighborhood?
During Easter season, we were able to do just that through the Bloomingdale Church’s Passion Project 2017. We partnered with the Alliance’s outreaching ministries who are sent out to the darkest places of the world so everyone may have access to the gospel. They are helping others know and follow Jesus.
The goal was to raise $47,100 for nine different needs, ranging from building a house in Honduras to producing and distributing Sunday School materials in Indonesia. We are excited to report that we have surpassed the goal and raised over $75,000. This fund will be fully used to support those nine projects and expand the reach of the gospel both in the U.S. and overseas.
Our annual 24-hour Good Friday Prayer Vigil event gave people a chance to slow down during the Easter season and refocus themselves upon Jesus. Through five different prayer stations, with light acoustic music playing in the background, this event left many in deep contemplation (like Mark F of Glenbard North HS pictured above) all day and night.
Whether you had a pleading on your heart to bring before God, or you wanted to give God thanks for his daily blessings, this prayer event was beneficial. It addressed all Biblical aspects of prayer and invited participants to turn and put their faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of their sins.
If you did not get a chance to partake in the Prayer Vigil this year, we would like to extend an invitation for next year’s vigil. We love meeting new people and want them to encounter Jesus.
