A FREE community event for families, children, and teens:

  • Burgers, hot dogs, watermelon, chips, lemonade, and an ice cream bar
  • Live Music
  • Children’s Games and a fabulous park
  • Facepainting and balloon animals
  • Sports tourneys and “Gagaball”
  • Lawn games

Party in the Park Food Drive

Bloomingdale Church is gathering donations for our local food pantries. Donating is simple — bring non-perishable food items to Sunnyside Park on Friday, June 17 from 6 to 8 pm during Party in the Park. Donations may also be dropped off in the church’s rear “portico entrance” on June 18-19.

Kids had a Blast at Day Camp 2015

Singing, dancing, jumping, games, crafts, stories, and skits.  Day Camp 2015 was a blast!

Over 400 children joined over 100 Bloomingdale Church volunteers down on the farm at Day Camp June 16-19, 2015.

Highlights from the week include:

  • Smooth, safe, and secure daily check-in and check-out
  • The Avengers taught Willy the Worm, Sammy the Scarecrow and Mama Jo about forgiveness, love, and patience
  • Day Camp Band rockin’ out, with a vibrant Whitney Houston impersonation by Day Camp band leader, Chris S
  • Tasty beverages for guests at check-in
  • Games outside in the sunshine
  • Herbie the Snail getting sick on stage.
  • Grape Girls performed “Heard it Through the Grapevine” and Jalapeno Sisters performed “Let It Go”
  • The Beet Bunch performed a beat-boxed Day Camp rap
  • “Gaga-ball!” (You’ll have to ask a 5th or 6th grader)
  • Fishing at West Lake
  • Hand-decorated bells, tye-dyed t-shirts, door hangers from the kid’s craft times

The week ended with the huge, free Party in the Park over at SunnySide Park in Bloomingdale. Many families from Day Camp and the surrounding community enjoyed the party, with highlights including:

  • Over 400 people enjoying the free event
  • Hot dogs, watermelon, popcorn, and “freezie pops”
  • Kids getting their faces painted and receiving balloon animals
  • Playing carnival games
  • Teens playing basketball, volleyball, and Gaga-ball
  • Enjoying a beautiful, brisk summer evening
