Fall Youth Group Kickoff 2019

Article by Daniel Wright, Youth Director

A new school year comes with many different changes. From substantial transitions, including going to a new school and making new friends, to minor ones such as new classrooms and teachers, can cause discomfort. While a time of transition may seem unsettling, there are many things to look forward to. Often times, a new school year can bring new lifelong friends, amazing stories, and experiences that will be unforgettable. “New” can be hard, but it has the potential to energize and propel one into greatness.

Through serving alongside the youth as the new Youth Director for the past month, I have caught a passion and vision for our youth group and I am exhilarated by all that God will do in this upcoming season of life. I believe that God has prepared experiences that will be unforgettable, stories that will amaze, and friends that will be lifelong for this young body of believers.

That said, such experiences can not be had if it is just completed by staff members at a church or even with the help of our amazing volunteers. We need our students to have someone who is involved in their day-to-day life. The best people to fill this role include both parents and guardians. So I want to invite all parents and guardians to partner with me and all our volunteers by attending our Fall Kickoff Meeting on September 6th at 6:45pm in the Youth Quad (enter southwest door). During this meeting, we will go over the upcoming events for the fall semester and announce our plans for the 2020 Summer Trip. You will also be able to ask any questions you may have. Please plan to come to this meeting as I am looking forward to getting to know you and including you in with the plans for this fall!

Please RSVP so we know who’s coming by filling out this survey so we can plan accordingly!
PS: There will be snacks and coffee!
