Our Youth Group is Experiencing Community on Instagram

Hello BC Parents!

We hope that you and your families are adjusting to our new normal; and we are praying that you experience joy and growth as a family in the coming weeks. As many of you know, there is a live-streamed video/devotional on Facebook each morning at 10am led by Dan Marcello, and a worship set by Scott at 6pm (from the Bloomingdale Church Facebook page). We also have a YouTube Channel with video content for SMYG which we would love for you to watch with your teens. It’s a great opportunity to disciple them at home; and we’ve provided some resources to help you with this.

As we’ve talked to your teens, we’ve discovered that many of them do not have social media (instagram included). We understand (and respect) the decision to protect your teens from the “cesspool” that is social media, but we would like to encourage you (parents) to consider creating an instagram account that you can use to share what we are posting with your teens.

We are posting a “daily devotional thought” video and encouraging Bible verses on the bcyouth264 page. We’re are also going to have a live video “Q&A with DW & Chels” on the 264coffeehouse page on Fridays from 7-8 pm. Students will be able post questions in the comments that we’ll answer in the video. We don’t want you to feel pressured to do anything you’re uncomfortable with, but we really want to continue to be able to speak truth and provide daily encouragement to your teens as they maneuver these uncertain times.

If you have any questions about this, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Chelsea or Daniel.

We’re better together!
