#LessonsLearned + Affirming the Outcomes of IPSAT

Engaging with many individuals for 8-consecutive weeks at the IPSAT Course has sourced plenty of great feedback, including:

Emphasize the outcomes of IPSAT early and often:

  • Gain confidence and clarity about how you add the most value to other people and best contribute to a team
  • Prioritize where you need to grow the most right now
  • Expose how you are naturally predisposed to sabotage relationships and derail your own leadership

Personality / Strengths

  • Table coaching questions (ie “What does it look like for you to have this strength?”) are especially helpful in learning the language of identity self awareness

Skills Inventory

  • It is not an exhaustive list; and if you do not understand the skill meaning just score it lower
  • Building skills on foundation of strengths maximizes capacity

Spiritual Gifts

  • Wherever you are currently in your spiritual life – you can take a Spiritual Gifts test. Your responses to the assessment questions will reflect your experiences of volunteering and helping others. And as you grow in a relationship with Jesus you will begin to experience Jesus’ power doing things through you beyond your natural abilities.

  • The IPSAT does not tell you what you are passionate about. Discovery of passion is best reflected by your intentional discovery and engagement in areas of passion.
  • The Passion Pyramid framework is especially helpful – 1) learn about 2) engage in activities 3) influence others toward 4) even if sacrifice is required
  • It is helpful to think about and write down what your passionate about before taking the assessment

Engagement in IPSAT in the context of a community / Course is most effective

  • Invitation to an event (IPSAT Course launch), not just a concept (identity self awareness)
  • Weekly “table coaching” is the highest valued aspect of IPSAT Course
  • Timely completion of IPSAT assessments and coaching

Guiding Scriptures

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  Psalm 139:13-17

Jesus said, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17
