NextGen Ministry Affirmation – Summer 2020

Last weekend our church staff participated together in a “graduation parade” to each high school and college graduate’s home from our church. One grad wrote “I just wanted to say thank you so much for the drive-by graduation celebration you did for me earlier today! My family and I had no idea what to expect, and we were blown away by all the people who came, all the personalized gifts and cards I received, and all the genuine care and love you showed.”

To the best of my knowledge a graduation parade for BC’ers has not been done before.  Our current situation created a unique opportunity for showing individuals that they are loved.

You may have wondered how the NextGen ministries will continue forward with the unknowns of which phase we will be in, how we will adhere to community health safety, and how we will do ministry together differently.  Again the situation has created an opportunity – onsite programs are not the only way; you can care for another human in many different ways; we can use our God-given gifts for the work God has prepared for us to do.

Our shared affirmation to help kids, teens, and families know Jesus:

① Find and affirm a spiritual advocate for every child/student
② Care consistently for every child/student and their family
③ Stimulate spiritual community groups
, including:
Families as primary spiritual caregivers
Families with families
Age and stage
