People say all the time, “Life is a journey.” There are times that stepping back and looking at the big picture of life can be positive, but then there are times where the big picture can be overwhelming, especially for teens. In our youth discipleship program we encourage students to take the “next step.” The idea here is that pursuing the life God has called us to is manageable by simply taking the next step forward.
Recently, Anna and I had 14 students over to our house. These students came because they wanted to be involved in leading their friends through a Biblical discussion at Sunday Morning Youth Group (SMYG) this semester. This is a notable next step for them. They are not just hearing about what God wants us to do as His followers, but are actively leading their friends in knowing more from God’s Word too.
